Concept that will be connected to TOK: The Flat Earth Society

Explanation of Real Life Situation: The Flat Earth Society is a group of people who passionately and actively believe that the world is not a round sphere, but is in fact, a disk shaped plane. This society has existed for quite sometime, and sparks very interesting debated on how people can have beliefs that seem completely absurd and go against what everything believes to be the given truth. The Flat Earth Society counts with a very engaged community of people, who have arguments (not always good arguments) to prove why the earth is a disk, and have counterarguments (mostly bad counterarguments) to explain why the arguments that the earth is a sphere are false.

Connection to TOK: With the Flat Earth society RLS, several connections to TOK can be made. I can clearly see imagination, intuition, reason, the question of what is REALLY true and theoretical knowledge in this situation.
